Nike‘s holiday range is heating up with a velvety rendition of the women’s Air Jordan OG silhouette, which draws on the Jordan 13 featuring dimpled details that call out to Michael Jordan‘s love for golf. Arriving in “Black/Metallic Gold,” the sneaker boasts a festive black and gold color scheme, with the latter appearing as speckles beneath the mesh overlays. Known fondly as the “Sheryl Swoopes,” this footwear style was the first women’s basketball shoe created by Nike, coinciding with the dawn of the WNBA. While Swoopes certainly popularized the OG, she received her signature shoe, the Air Swoopes, in 1995. The Air Jordan OG “Black/Metallic Gold” for women retails for $140 USD and will be available on November 30 via Nike’s website.

Before the eye-catching “Atmosphere” tone lands on a kids-exclusive Air Jordan 6 Low in January 2022, the pink tone will appear on the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Bubble Gum” tomorrow, December 22nd. Stylized in a similar fashion as the original “Black Toe” colorway of Michael Jordan’s first signature sneaker, the pair boasts a rose hue that hasn’t historically appeared across many retreat the toe box, ankle panels and lower heel overlays. And while the “Atmosphere” tone would be enough for the Air Jordan 1‘s upcoming release to garner a “Bubble Gum” moniker, it plays a supporting role to the gum-like graphic printed on the outsoles. Hits of “Obsidian” throughout the upper help deliver further modern-flair, while creating a women’s-exclusive offering not overly-reliant on colors and makeovers traditionally associated with the feminine.
